DataFort Ltd. Expands To The United States

| DataFort Corporation Subsidiary Opens in New York City |
| New York and Guildford, Surrey UK − U.K.-based DataFort Ltd., a leading provider of managed offsite backup services, has launched a United States subsidiary, DataFort Corporation, headquartered in New York City. |
DataFort Corp. will sell and market PCFort – a turn-key, secure offsite data backup service – to ISPs for their small office and home office ( SOHO) personal computer users. PCFort offers the SOHO market the same secure data backup technology already used by large, multinational corporations and financial institutions. |
Marcie Terman, Chief Operating Officer of DataFort Corp., will oversee the strategic launch of PCFort, the first of many services targeted at improving data security for SMBs. Terman previously was Business Development Director at DataFort Ltd.’s UK office.

“This service makes it possible for ISPs to profitably target the data security needs of the 25 to 40 million estimated SOHO businesses in the United States,” said Terman. “PCFort breaks new ground by providing a secure platform for ISPs to offer data backup to their customers without the cost of capital investment in licensing software, purchasing hardware and investing in manpower and skills needed to internally manage backup services. By outsourcing the entire process, they maximize the profit potential of the venture.”

DataFort’s
warning comes on the back of a similar announcement by UK
insurance giant AXA Insurance, alerting SMEs to the threat
of liquidation unless robust data storage and risk management
programmes were in place. It suggested working with a specialist
off-site data storage and recovery provider to help safeguard
business critical data.
