A very traditional
industry embraces new technology to deliver its services in the most energy
efficient way for the 21st century
Keltbray is the UK's largest specialist demolition and civil engineering
contractor. Its Group Managing Director, Brendan Kerr, sought advice to
allow Keltbray to better harness the right science and technology for
its business in some complex and potentially sensitive environments. This
£100m fast growing business carries out demolition contracts for the construction
industry at the very top end of the scale. It is also expanding into waste
management and remediation technologies some of which are new to Keltbray.
Brendan was "keen to secure blue water between Keltbray and its competitors
and Science Services are providing guidance and advise. Science Services
enable Keltbray to access the right solutions which are better, faster,
cheaper and greener for their clients.
Says Damien McDonnell
of SSL: "Similar use of some novel technologies could deforest a site
turning remnant timbers into useful woodchip or pellets. Recycled glass
can be reformed as bricks. Lasers can be used to cut through concrete.
Harmful asbestos deconstructed using plasma reactors."
