If the folder has 10gb of word documents in it, it will yield an archive of less than 2gb, because PCFort can compress the files very efficiently. If the folder holds music or movies it won't compress much at all.

If you are unsure how much information you need to backup, it is very easy to find out. Open Windows Explorer and right click on the folder you want to backup. [In figure 1, we have selected My Documents.] Select properties and you will see the total size of the folder displayed in the My Documents Properties box. [figure 2]
